Our Home

Relax in the private pool and spa, then make yourself at home in our 3-bedroom, mission-style desert casa in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. You'll feel like you've come home to Lake Havasu, even if it's your first visit.

If you're looking for a relaxing vacation or a haven from the harsh winters of the north, Sun and Water should be at the top of your list. Lake Havasu isn't on an Interstate Highway. It's in a crook of the Colorado River that spreads out to make a 45-mile-long lake between Arizona and California. Havasu's beaches and water recreation give it the affectionate nickname "Arizona's west coast."

Everything in our house is tastefully decorated in the southwest style. Bougainvillea and iron gates admit you to the traditional Spanish enclosed "patio" complete with bubbling fountain.

Our Havasu home provides almost 1400 square feet of living space indoors and thousands of square feet of enjoyment outdoors. All this for what you'd pay for a hotel room! But there's room for your kids, friends, or both, since the house easily sleeps six, with a private, split bedroom floor plan. Sleeping arrangements include a king sized bed in the master suite, a queen sized bed in the front bedroom and twin beds in the back bedroom. The queen and twin bedroom share the roomy full bath in the hall, while the master has its own full bath.

Since this is our vacation destination too, we furnished the house with COMFORTABLE beds in every room. No scrimping on the most important part of your stay - rest and relaxation.

There’s Plenty to Do ... Or Nothing to Do ...

You choose. Our central location close to downtown, grocery stores, shopping, restaurants, and of course London Bridge and Lake Havasu, makes Sun and Water the ideal choice for your Havasu stay. Our pool catches the sun all day, and the heated, in-ground spa feels wonderful on cool winter nights.

  • Bring your boat and cruise the lake or rent a watercraft of your choice
  • Take a long or short hike at the nearby state parks or enjoy a picnic lunch by the lake
  • Bass fish for trophy striped bass and a variety of other sport species
  • Play golf at the 36-hole pubic course a half mile from our front door
  • Take the kids to the community park around the corner
  • Drive quads, motorcycles, dune buggies on the nearby hills
  • Hunt for gold (using metal detectors)
  • Take a ferry ride to the casino across the lake and gamble (or just to enjoy the ride)
  • Study the flowering desert
  • Book a desert tour or escorted fishing trip
  • Or, just take a short walk for an ice cream or shaved Hawaiian ice
  • Personally, we prefer floating on the pool with a cold iced-tea and a good book between naps.

Location

  • Sun and Water is located in the central part of Lake Havasu City, far enough away from the bridge and lake to be out of the tourist traffic, but close enough to walk to the beach (about a 2-mile walk--too hot to accomplish in the summer).
  • Close to grocery shopping (closest grocery store is Smith's - they have a great bakery). In that same little shopping center is our ice cream/shaved ice store, a coffee shop, gas station, etc.
  • A short drive to the municipal center (with a mini-water park including a water slide)
  • A couple of blocks to a community park with playground equipment and shade
  • A half mile to London Bridge public golf course (36 holes!)
  • A $2.00 ferry ride to the native American casino across the lake
  • Within a day trip of Las Vegas and if you leave very early, the Grand Canyon
  • If you want to look up the general location on the Net, type in Bunker and Daytona, and you'll be very close

Lake Havasu City is off the beaten path, not on the Interstate. That's one of the reasons it's the perfect Arizona retreat -- minimal traffic, birdsong in the mornings, great sunsets, peace and quiet.

About the Owners

Frank and Patty Coldwater... (the grey haired ones in the picture). We honeymooned in Lake Havasu City in 2004. It was the first time either of us rented a vacation home. What a delight! We fell in love with Lake Havasu and returned the following year and started looking for just the right home for us. We found it in February of 2006 and bought it in March. The next three months we spent remodeling, furnishing and decorating the house that we hope to share with YOU!

Frank works for Marcrum Management as a maintenance man for a 100 unit apartment complex in Fort Collins, Colorado. I owned a direct mail advertising company in Colorado which I sold in October of 2004. I joined TMR Direct, in Colorado Springs as VP of Marketing in 2007.  The title on my business card is "Queen Mother of Direct Mail".
Both of us were widowed a few years back. I lost my husband Dan in a car accident in 2002 and Frank lost his wife Evyon to cancer two years before that. We met at church and married in April of 2004. We have three sons: Shane, Cody and Brian. Shane and Cody live near Tucson and Brian is married to our lovely daughter in law, Tara and is dad to our grandkids Ryan and Madison. They live near Phoenix.

Frank’s hobbies include gardening, landscaping, and reading. He also likes movies and is a bit of a movie buff.

I quilt, sew, crochet, write poetry, and read, read, read. I have a degree in English and also studied Spanish and French. What people notice about me first is my height – I’m only 4’9” and weigh under 100 pounds.

We both take our spiritual commitments seriously so we spend a lot of time in Bible study. There’s always something new to learn in the “Good Book.” When we’re in Havasu, we worship with the Oro Grande church of Christ.

We have three border terrier family members, Caede and Sydney, (pictured above) and Maggie (new pup).
